Exposes how Tech Oligarchs replace faith and covenant with surveillance capitalism, algorithmic mind control, and the erasure of Christianity. But you, the reader, have the power to resist. Discover the resistance.
There is an urgent and silent war being fought for the soul of human beings. Its battleground is the digitized 'public' square we know as the 'Open' Internet. One combatant is the collective human wisdom accumulated from Earth's religions. At stake is our millennia of accumulated traditions, through which we have learned to find meaning in life through service to others. Spirituality provides comfort and a sense of purpose forged by community.
On the opposing side stands a new, hollow dogma enforced by an elite inner circle of Tech Oligarchs, whose near-sightedness reduces the human soul to data points, engagement metrics, and conditionable behaviors (mind control). Their power is immense, and their influence is pervasive.
The Tech Oligarch's primary defense is that "this is only a Culture War."
This hidden and rampant conflict constitutes what Shoshanna Zuboff has labelled Surveillance Capitalism in its archetypal template. Surveillance Indoctrination Capitalism is not merely an economic engine but a fundamental forced reordering of human relationships and human perception of Self.
This Battle is not a mere culture war; it is a theological war theater of scale and of historical and intimate proportions.
The war pits the 5,000-year-old understanding of human beings as sacred, relational beings-what we shall call the Covenantal Beings-against a 21st-century invention, which we shall call the Networked Self. The networked Self is a solitary data node whose sole purpose and value is to generate money and power for the machine —a Networked Self Utility with no intrinsic value. Covenantal Beings find meaning and solace in deities, in sacrifice, doing for one another, and finding their purpose in the strenuous and beautiful work of being planetary caretakers.
The Networked Self derives value from optimization, scalability, and dividends for owners and shareholders in fiat currency. One is rooted in gift and grace, the other is rooted in digital colonialism, personal data extraction, and control over the minds of others.
The Myth of Postwar Christian America
To fully comprehend this moment of digital exile, we must lose the mythology of the post-World War II boom of houses and churches —the lost Golden Age of Christianity Myth. Historians like Kevin Kruse (One Nation Under God) have meticulously documented that mid-20th-century "Christian America" was a significantly boosted project driven by corporate, institutional, and political concerns.
The late Steve Jobs and Tim Cook both don the "analytical" robes of the Neighborhood Vicar.
The collapse of Churches in America was not anomalous; instead, it was both a significant cause and an inevitable return to a historical orthodoxy—a cultural normality in which the church conflicts with the prevailing social order.
The Outlawing of Faith
We Covenantal Beings live in what writer Aaron Renn has accurately called the "Negative World" – an era where traditional Christian beliefs in God, love, life, marriage, and human sexuality have become a social, career, and societal anchor holding one back in a Networked Self World. The organizations and institutions that once mediated conflicts between the individual and the state – churches, communities, civic life- have atrophied. In their wake is a moral and relational vacuum.
Into this void have emerged Tech high priests, digital gurus, and architects of the Networked Self digital life – the Tech Oligarchs. Their platforms are not net neutral; their algorithms are not Spiritual. Their "public" squares are not public nor square, despite what their marketing hubris may claim.
The Tech Priests do not share your bed nor pay your bills, but insist on renting space in your head, anyway.
The brick-and-mortar churches are replaced by the new digital churches of Gates, Brin, Cooke, Zuckerberg, Bezos, and Musk. These are your new 'Ministers,' their creed secular, the user agreements, rules on 'hate speech' and 'community standards' and 'content moderation' are cruel mechanisms of indoctrination and inquisition.
Digital Global Nakba
Writers have described the digital exile we live in as a metaphorical Digital Nakba; its scale is Global. The trend globally is to erase Christian voices from the "public" squares, to completely erase Christian websites and Christian articles (like this one).
Algorithmic shadowbanning of Christian voices and the demonetization of Christian ministries and moral psychology news websites by a tiny cadre of Novelle Tech high priests smacks of a new inquisition. The erasure of Christian teachings from the "free" and "open" Outernet (because you are not in, you are out) constitutes indoctrination – a new Palestinian-style digital Nakba. Christians "online" are displaced persons, their digital homes razed.
The digital displacement of a group, based on their religious beliefs, meant that their metaphorical ancestral homeland was vaporized digitally. The erasure is not random censorship; it is systematic erasure of people's religious and Spiritual ideals.
C.S. Lewis's Christian Theory
Centered on the premise that humans are made for a deep and joyful life within God, which they often neglect when seeking other pleasures. Lewis believed in a process of mere Christianity —a core of shared beliefs across the sects and denominations — where one becomes a "little Christ."
Key aspects of Lewis's work include the question of God's existence grounded in human desires, the reality of a broken human nature prone to sin, and the concept of salvation through Christ and the continued necessity of repentance.
In 1943, Lewis theorized that God and religion would be explicitly replaced by a Technological movement and by "Conditioners" (mind control gurus, cultists) – outlined in the work "The Abolition of Man."
These Technological and managerial elites would live outside of the accepted social and moral order (Lewis's "The Tao. Today, these elites live outside of the law, outside of moral order (separate from God). They seek to reshape humanity in their own image, just as Lewis warned.
Lewis foretold of these "Conditioners" wielding power by weeding out traditional beliefs (Spiritual beliefs, faith sentiments) and instilling new ones (Networked Self).
Sectarian Cleansing
What was once a warning is now a Trillion-dollar business plan – the Tech Oligarch is the 21st-century conditioner. The tools and methodology are the relentless churning of global-warming, carbon-burning algorithms— data extraction and behavior modification. The Tech priests' financial engine is the data harvesting and indoctrination warned of by Shoshanna Zuboff – the core turbine of Surveillance Capitalism.
It is almost astounding that Intel and Apple have not yet installed Pop-ups in abandoned churches.
The Abolition of God
The Abolition of Jesus by Tech has mirth and irony. The words of Theologians are the antithesis of the Networked Self Tech "Priests." The teachings of Jesus and his Apostles and the human being made in God's image represent the ultimate rebuttal to a small group of men with size envy and their Conditioned Model of eMachine Post-Humans.
The Gospel insists on a flawed version of Human Beings who are redeemed and atoned for by Jesus's Salvation. The notion that a dozen trillionaires would pretend to erase Christianity to make all of us in their image is nearly laughable. Human beings are malleable by God, saved by God, and destined for Eternity. Tech is tomorrow's dust, rubble, and hazardous e-waste, destined for the dust and wind of Ecclesiastes. The Tech Oligarch's main sin is pride —the idea that they, themselves, "are the new god."
Digital "Exorcism" of Faith
The language and the semantics of the war are proof of the imbecility of the dispute. The vibrant Technicolor and poetry, the Spiritual wisdom of Scripture versus the shallow, dry, dusty shadow of "community standards" and "end user agreement" and "Hate Speech Violation(s)" and "Misinformation." This is a digital exorcism in reverse – an attempt to strike from the English lexicon words like transcendence, Eternity, and afterlife.
What words will they strike mute next?
Erasing Religion and History – Mental Colonialist History Revision
What we are witnessing is a mental colonization—a historical revisionism of memory and meaning. The faith that once built cathedrals, inspired reformations, and birthed the moral conscience of the West is being algorithmically replaced by synth, soma, machine virtue, and machine ethics.
The question is no longer whether faith can survive the Network, but whether the human soul can survive dislocation from the divine.
Covenantal Beings vs Networked Self
The story is a fundamental disagreement over what it means to be human. Ancient hominins Sahelanthropus tchadensis, Orrorin tugenensis, and Ardipithecus kadabba buried their dead with great reverence. They signed no user agreement. Facebook, Google, and Bing kick anything Spiritual to the gutter as if it is trash.
Christianity, Buddhism, Islam, Hinduism, and the other great religions of the world share a view of humans as Covenantal Beings. These selves find meaning in relationships, in Covenant with God, not in digital isolation. Actual humans find beauty in the divine, in nature, in art, in culture, in the cosmos, and in humanity itself.
Anthropology of Spirit
Humans have always been interrelational, sacred beings. From the earliest civilizations that built temples and sang hymns, meaning arose in covenant: with gods, with one another, with the world. We are beings of cosmic awe, inspired to transcendence, Godly ethics, and natural beauty. Purpose is revered in sacrifice, love, and the labor of caretaking - our human value intrinsic, inseparable from our humanity.
Anthropology of Silicon
The Networked Self reduces existence to data points and transactions. Human worth is measured in compliance, engagement metrics, and algorithmic obedience. Humans are modeled as IP Address nodes, optimized for utility to machines, stripped of relational depth, intrinsic meaning. Transcendence is nonpertinent; the sacred is coded as white noise. Moral consciousness becomes a manipulated dataset, ethics a dynamic parameter, and human life an extractable, disposable resource.
Norton and McAfee offer no protection whatsoever against the Tech Giants' Mind Control.
The Monetization of Dehumanization
Peter Thiel, Palantir Technologies, Alex Karp, NSO Group Technologies, Elbit Systems Ltd., Microsoft Corporation, Google LLC, all profited grandly from Gaza Lavender AI, a Genocidal Targeting System which murdered over 77,000 persons. Even killing Covenantal Beings is profitable to the Tech Priests.
The Gaza Dead and the 1.9 million people, or about 90% of Gaza's population, as homeless refugees via Lavender Talpiot Artificial Intelligence, is a stark warning that this is a real, life and death incarnate war.
Fighting Back
The Benedict Option, by author Rod Dreher, argues that we are living in a "new dark age(s)." The ~77,000 dead in Gaza and the ~2,000,000 homeless refugees, largely denied even basics like food, water, medicine, and tents, are proof absolute that humanity is fighting a losing battle against machines – Holy War.
Dreher's Benedict Options, strategies, and tactics, condensed:
- Form family and friends, Christian communities that are insulated from the dystopic antisocial order.
- Rebuild moral and Spiritual life through home Bible Study, and shared life.
- Educate children in truth and morality, outside the machinery of TikTok.
- Practice counterculture economics: simplicity, unplugged from Tech.
- Develop deep personhoods of community that sabotage digital networks and machine ideology.
- Withdraw strategically from (anti-)social media, maintaining faith yet engaging wisely.
- Live life as a creative minority - cultivating divine order in the midst of societal decomposition.
- Protect the family as a monastery, a sanctuary of truth, prayer, and love.
Learn to develop new ideas and behaviors, become a Benedictine Monk on the inside. Become a Benedictine online, and start a blog or website to share with family, friends, your church, and your home bible study peers.
Liturgical Resistance – Lawrence Lacher
Liturgical Resistance (Lawrence Lacher), defined concisely in 2025, is Public Religion, Public Worship, Spiritual Guerrilla-style Warfare against the Tech Algorithm and Oligarchs. Each personal meeting, bible study, phone call, text, or email that is Pro-God and Anti-Tech is a battle site. The Tech Oligarchs want us to live in the shadow of their "omnipotent" algorithms. If even on a small scale, make them live in the shadow of our prayers, our articles, our publishing, our letters, and our email campaigns of protest against their censorship of God.
In the dark shadow cast by Tech's silicon stare, read, write, pray, publish, meditate, form rituals designed to please God and displease Musk, Gates, et al—Guard Community of God (all religions) from the Charlatans of Silicon.
Move and live in an Andrew T. Walker Liminality, Twilight, State, Concept of Resistance to their Silicon Antichrist. Adopt a new lifestyle, a new inner world order, in which they are the minority, the tiny cult attempting to pull God's strings. You and your life belong to God – no Silicon is your false idol. Expose their idolatry for what it is, for who it is. Learn to choose your battles on your terms, not on theirs. Experiment, do the unexpected. Start prayer email chains that expose the Silicon Idol of God for exactly who and what it is.
Building Convivial Society: Pratt Jr./Sacasas-Style
Richard L. Pratt Jr. and L.M. Sacasas wrote of a return to covenantal, faith-rooted Oases that resist society's rot from within. Digital networks seek to re-relate human beings in Zuckerberg's image rather than God's. It is an opportunity for real human beings to find deep meaning in resistance through labor, love, prayer, and human relationships. Counter digital isolation by building human relations.
Convivial society is created wherever two or more are gathered together in His name—Block TikTok's IP Address in your network settings. Serve Pie and Coffee or Tea, and have a round-robin Gospel reading in your living room, following each person's reading with what they believe about what they just read.
ChatGPT is being sued for urging a man to blow his brains out with a gun. Building a more convivial society among your friends and family is healthy and Spiritual. It runs contrary to the AI Death Cult.
Bring a Bible, rather than a pen-knife, to the fight – because this is a Holy War.
More on How to Fight Back:
· Create a Lewisian Tao environment in your own life and in the lives of close family and friends. Read, pray, meditate, take tea, and unplug from Facebook.
· Initiate Covenantal Communities with family and friends that are Spiritually grounded and firewalled from the Networked Self.
· Practice in home-based liturgical practices: Bible study, prayer, singing, dessert, and round-robin Gospel readings to cultivate faith and human connection. Use a Community Room at a bank or library, if needed.
· Strategically withdraw from antisocial AI portals while living a discernment, reflection, and faith-driven life.
· Build a convivial society: gather two or more in His name, share meals, readings, Zoom or Living Room Bible Studies, and Spiritual reflections to counter algorithmic isolation.
· Read, pray, meditate, and sleep upon the seminal works authored by the Covenantal Beings cited herein: Shoshana Zuboff, Kevin Kruse, Aaron Renn, C. S. Lewis, Rod Dreher, Lawrence Lacher, Andrew T. Walker, Richard L. Pratt Jr., and L. M. Sacasas.
Ultimately, faith and technology are incompatible as long as technology seeks to enthrone itself as God; the only proper Christian response to AI is resistance grounded in covenant, conscience, and divine truth rather than machine logic. This spiritual resistance online no longer becomes a protest but an act of worship: a defiance of the anti-Christian delusion that algorithms can either redeem or redefine the human soul.
